As I said in an earlier post that I have been making a mini-album for my friend to give to his girlfriend for Valentine's Day. It is all finished I also made a card to go with it. I am not really a card maker at heart, but I enjoyed this one. I loved the free stamp on this months Craft Stamper, so put it to good use.

Well I have found time this week to get the challenges I wanted done, got let home from work 3 hours early yesterday due to our good OFSTED result so of course, I spent the time crafting. Well I was trying to sort my ever growing stash out aswell!!
The theme this week over at SCD was CATS the last for this months gothic arches, I am glad I am not the only one who feel that this month has gone by super quick. So on the theme of cats I completed two arches below....let me know what you think. Any of you who knows me will know which is my favourite.
I wanted to keep this quite minimal, something my last arches have not really been. I found this cat piece in my stash of papers, not quite sure where it came from. I took the colour theme from their.
Well this is my favourite, the best Cat/Kitty around. I used some pink paper from my stash then inked the edges. The kitty is a tag off one of my many purchases. It was finished off with a Cricut cut 100% and some Papermania letters. I then went Perfect Pearls and Stickle crazy to finish this pretty kitty off.
Really enjoyed my first month of challenges from SCD and am looking forward to seeing what next months theme will be.

Well what a week that has been, just been through the horror that is OFSTED, it was all over as of 4.30pm today and what a relief that was, clocked up a 7o hour week not fun! In the end my two projects were not looked at but had to be prepared just in case, I am looking forwards to getting back to the norm of shouting at learners are sorting out new referrals. (I work at a unit for excluded 12-16 year olds)
Due to that interruption have not been up to much scrapbooking really, also missed a few challenges, especially the one on SCD, which I had been doing, I suppose I still have time before Friday if I dint just sleep every evening! I have been a bit crafty completed a mini album for my mates girlfriend for Valentines, he should be picking up this week, I hope he likes...and that she does as a gift. ( I will post photos later this week, I have misplaced my camera lead)
Something I have done is to have a go at some more digital scrapbooking, found some great download kits at Shabby Princess, fell in love with some of the papers, think I may print some out for my paper collection. Also downloaded some cute Valentine coupons as linked on the Bubby Funk blog, so cute I am loving them, their was also a few other freebies. I am still not sure if to put my money where my mouth is with Digital kits, I think I will keep using the lovely freebies for now.
I am also hoping now the weather has calmed down and OFSTED has gone to where it belongs that I can get to my crops next month. I attend the Bramford Crop 'n' Chat and also the crop at Crafts and Candlelight and always have a productive day. Well I think I will leave it their and head off to bed for some much deserved sleep (even if I do say so myself) Please see my latest digital offering below.

Well what happened to that week then! Seems one minute I was dreading Monday morning and next minute is Friday and still I have a list of jobs as long as my arm to do. Since it is the weekend, I have a chance to switch off from work and do some crafting, the weather has made it a stay-in day anyway.
Well this week at SCD the theme was Fashion, which is one of my many passions, and I loved this challenge. It is also another one for the kitchen wall!
The image of the woman was found on the net and I then altered it in photoshop so the colours matched. The background was a dress print paper, with some lace effect border sticker but I did not like it so went mad with the embossing powdwe again! I added the punched holes so I could lace some ribbon through, the buttons and gems added a bit of bling. The title of the piece were some letter stickers I had lying around.
I hope you like the result.

I was blog surfing, like you do, and came across a blog by a lady called Mel. She posted about a site called Wordle, I expect alot of you from blogland already know about this, but I was facinated.
Here is my first week of blogging in a Wordle, I am thinking it would make a good background generator for scrapbooking pages aswell (you can input a series of words or use a blog post) if printed out.
Keeping up with my resolution for completing challenges, here is another one this time from the DT over at 'Something Completely Different'.
This months theme is 'Gothic Arches' with a weekly theme of 'New Year'. Here is my interpritation.
I used a chipboard backing which I covered in paper(MME Wild Asparagus) and distressed with Tim Holz ink. At the bottom is a small section of a Martha Stewart punched paper piece, again it has been distressed and embossed using copper embossing powder. The top arches are distressed Auld Land Syne sheet music, printed on MME, again embossed, inked etc. The numbers are cut using the Cricut with the 'Printing Press' Cartridge.
Another one for my bare kitchen wall.

As you will know if you read my blog, that one of my scrapping New Year Resolutions was to take part in some of the online challenges I see. One of these has been the Vanilla Sugar monthly challenge, on Bubbly Funk.
The theme this month was Coasters, I loved all the examples and felt inspired to create my own, and I am happy with the result.
I used a circle cutter to cut a 4" circle in chipboard to mount my paper upon it. I choose to use a patterned paper from the K & Company Life's Tapestry pad, the stamp featured is a Laurence Llwelyn Bowen stamp. I used embossing powder as well as the walnut stain destressing ink pad. I am going to varnish this and put in my kitchen, which has a boring plan wall, I am going to add my other challenge creations to this wall too.
Let me know what you think for my first blog challenge post.

Well I dont know about you but I am fed up of this snow, ok it looks nice in pictures....but the whole world seems to grind to a halt! I had the day off work yesterday to get some sorting of the old flat finished, but due to snow and the fact my car is not brilliant in these conditions (it's a Smart Car) that was a bit of a non start. I did however as I had the day off work do some productive scrapbooking/sorting.
Firstly I tried my hand at digital scrapbooking, I have done this kinda thing before, during my Fine Art degree Photoshop was my best friend and I still use it for my photo editing. It is an ok layout, nothing special, I was restricted to a few free elements I had downloaded, but it still did not do it for me. As anyone in my family will tell you I have a big stationary/paper fetish and that is half the joy of scrapbooking for me. I may try it again, maybe do some hybrid work, I have just started doing printed journalling on a few of my layouts, so it may be the next step. Here is the layout let me know what you think.
The rest of the day I worked through sorting my photos from our holiday in Italy in 2008, which is the next album I hope to complete, and printing them out on my new printer. I treated myself to a Kodak ESP printer, the ink is very economic with a colour cartridge costing just £9.99 the quality of the prints is fab too.
I am also doing well on my resolutions, well one of them to join in challenges online with my scrapbooking/crafting. I am going to work on the Vanilla Sugar January challenge on Bubblyfunk and also am up for the Shimelle/UK Scrapper 2o1o monthly challenge (I have my envelope ready and photos taken. My other resolution to read more is not going so well, but we are only 7 days in so got time.
Well I think that is enough rambling from me, it is my fiance birthday today, Happy 22nd Birthday Hunny, and we are hoping the snow will stay away so we can do something nice with the day and of course take lots of photos.
