Handmade Love Challenge

Time for another Handmade Love weekly challenge, this week was a coloured theme challenge, I have never worked to a colour challenge before so was looking forward to this. The colour theme given was below.
Here is my interpretation of the colour theme, I really enjoyed routing through my stash to find the colour that went. I went a bit 'weathered wood' distress ink crazy to mute the paper tones to match the theme. I also used alot of differnet textures and punches to add interest to page. It shows one of my favourite hobbies talking to my best mate Thomas online for hours on end, catching up on our days.
I am looking forward to next weeks challenge now.

SCD ATC Weekly Challenge

Well another week has flown by, this being half-term has meant a week to catch up at work with all the jobs I have been putting off. I have not had a chance to do much scrapbooking/crafting, and have an ever growing list of challenges to complete. I still need to get the monthly challenge for BubblyFunk done........where has this month gone?

Well the theme this week over at SCD is KEYS.

This week I tried out my new Tim Holtz masks as a background ands also used some stamps and papers from my stash.

I am looking forward to watching Tim and all the other action on QVC's Craft Day....I am sure that my bank account is not looking forward to it, going to try and be restrained after my Martha Stewart TSV purchases!

Looking forward to next weeks theme over at SCD.

Handmade Love Challenge Blog

While blog surfing the other day, another of my hobbies, I came across a new challenge blog called Handmade Love.

Their first challenge on this blog was '10 things about me' well I had loads of ideas for this one. The DT layouts were brilliant and varied so their was lots to think about.

I have been thinking of doing a LO about the many different hairstyles I have had over the last year, and this seemed a perfect opportunity.
I used alot of my odd bits of pattern paper in this layout and also a variety of punches to add some interest. I used my Cricut to cut out the lettering. The film strips of photos was created on Photoshop CS2by layering my photos behind a filmstrip I found on the Internet.

I am please with how this turned out and am looking forward to future challenges from this DT.

ATC for this week

Well it is time for another SCD weekly challenge. This weeks theme was Wings

I am happy with this weeks effort on the theme.

I started by cutting the blank size out of chipboard then covered over this with a magazine cutting. The main image was a photocopy of a tattoo design which I then coloured in by hand and mounted on cardstock and cut out. The wording was simple printed out and cut out. Before assembling the ATC I embossed the background with a distressed pattern and applied a pewter powder. I then assembled it and raised the main image out on foam pads.

Their are some lovely examples over on the blog you should go that a look.

February ATC at Something Completely Different

Over at SCD this month a new challenge/theme has been selected, this month it is ATC. I have never done an ATC so this will be an good excuse to give it a go.

The theme this week is ' Mad March Hare'....Hare's are not something you scrap alot of!

Well here is my interpretation of the theme, I am happy with how it turned out, it is quite simple though.

I layer paper on the background and inked over a text stamp from My Mind's Eye, I then distressed and inked the edges. The hare image was found online which I printed on to photo paper and tinted with ink. I then layered this on the card with simple text and a flower, gems and brads for a bit of bling.

No sure how mad this hare is but it is defiantly a hare!..

I am hoping to be involved in swapping these with others on the challenge blog, and look forward to their efforts.

Thanks for looking

Month Journal

Well I saw this on the Kathryn Wheel blog at the beginning of the year and have been meaning to start it since then, but you know how things take over. I had my base ready just had to fill it up. I am still behind with my January one, but aim to get it completed this week.
I have decided to do mine on a double LO as I plan to have a whole album documenting 2010, so thought it would fit in best.

Below are the skeltons of the pages, I will take some more upto date pics and post shortly. I have the UKScrappers and Shimelle.com scrap your year January pages to complete aswell, I will be busy this weekend.

Wedding Card

Well the card got made, unfortunately rather quickly and late at night due to getting caught up in a book I was reading. (see I am working on my resolutions).

They loved the card and the wedding was so simple and beautiful. All the guests had a camera and we must have about 5000 pics between us, the bride and groom will have fun trawling through them. The Bride my BBF is slowly coming around to the idea of scrapbooking, I have brought her the stash she just needs the motivation.

Got lots of new challenges to get working on...shame I have to go to work!
