First Shimelle Layout - Prompt 2

Well I have been absorbing the prompts since I signed up to the class and have been waiting to find time to get started. I started on prompt 2 - Patterned Papers.

As I mention before I am a sucker for pattern paper I have soooooooo much it is crazy, and as much as I try I can not seem to keep it organised. Well this prompt is about using your scraps up but also taking the step of cutting in to bigger sheets, and that is exactly what I did.

The papers are from Urban Lily and S.E.I. not sure where I got these from, probably from one of the lovely ladies at the Bramford Crop who put their spare papers out to sell.....I do love a rummage. I was drawn to the paper with the text on and had it at the top of my stash pile a lot but never got around to using it, well at last I have. The theme of the class is to 'Celebrate Life' so the text fitted it perfectly. I also attacked my stash of chipboard letters.

I am hoping to get more of this class done this week, and am enjoying rummaging through my stash.

Handmade Love Scraplifting Challenge

Over at Handmade Love this week is a 'ScrapLift' challenge, we all love a bit of scraplifting don't we. Well I found this a perfect challenge seeming I had not done alot of scrapbooking these past weeks, it was ideal to break me in gentle.

I am happy with the results and look forward to seeing what the DT and others come up with.

My First Trinchie

Well I have been MIA for a week odd, life has been getting in the way of scrapping and I lost my mojo. But it is back now and I have been working on a few projects this weekend.

The first being the challenge over at SCD, this month it is trinchies, this is new to me, but I though I would give it a go, the theme is Musical Instruments.

Well ok an Ipod is not really a muscial instrument, but kind of, let me have this one? I kept it simple to reflect the ipod adverts. I am pleased with my first ever trinchie.

This weekends mojo was given a boost by the package I recieved from the lovely Jamie(check her blog) from Handmade Love. I won the February monthly challenge and this was my prize, I think I may have squealed at the postman! I will have lots of fun doing projects with this little lot.

I also have been recieving my prompts from shimelle's online class, I am yet to do anything but have lots of ideas and have been loving the work of everyone else. I also have my document 2010 project ongoing aswell as a few other bits. I have not been talking many picture this months, so must get snap happy this week.

Well I am off while the mojo strikes............have a good week.

Handmade Love Sketch Challenge

Well what another hectic week that has been, am glad it is over, I am hoping this week remains calm! I am also hoping this week I will have more time to Scrapbook as have more time to relax in the evening, but we will see.

Over at the lovely Handmade Love blog another great challenge has been set, I am really enjoying the variety, this week it was to interpret the sketch featured on their blog. I am using their challenges to work on a number of different projects/albums I have on the go, this one is for my Document 2010 album, which I am following loosely from and UKScrappers, hoping to have some documentation by December of the year.

This page is to show my resolution for this year, I decided to not make the normal, lose weight get fit ones and set one that I would enjoy, as you will see I have plenty of books to read. I noticed after photographing the layout the top photo is upside-down, I have corrected this now, but the light has gone to take another photo!! I found this a great sketch for using up scraps of patterned paper I had laying around, I also used my Cricut to full advantage to create the tittle and embellishment for this LO. (Printing Press and Cursive 101) I am super happy with this layout and thanks to the DT and Handmade Love for their inspiration.

Handmade Love Challenge

Well this past week has flown by, I have been stressed with work and also had this bug, that seems to doing the rounds!

This week over at Handmade Love the challenge was to use something on ya layout, that was not intended for use in scrapbooking. See my effort below, and visit the blog to see the great DT layouts.

The turquoise and grey pinstripe papers are cut from adverts found in a magazine. I like the effect as often magazine pages are glossy or finished different to the other papers. I also continued my passion for my new Martha Stewart punches. I will be keeping my eye out for patterns/elements in my magazines from now on.

This week I have also been loving the new Tim Holz book, and am keen to give all the techniques that are new to me a go. I am also doing well with my resolution to read more books, I have finished my first, I hope with work being less manic I can indulge my love of reading and stop my bookshelves creaking as much!
