The challenge over at Handmade Love this week is to use stitching on a layout. I have not done much stitching on LO, but I know it is very trendy at the moment, I must get my sewing machine back from work so I can try some machine stitching on a LO soon.
On this LO I handstitched the border around this, I prepunched the holes so it was more even than trying to pierce it with a needle.
Over at Shimelle.com as part of the crop party, she asked us to think about our 5 favourite layouts. This was hards as I only started cropping in November but already have 3 albums full. They all have different reasons for being special. This was a recent LO, I reallu like the bold colours and it was the first time I had used these type of chipboard letters. It show the lovely Ed Hardy bag that my BF got me.
This was one of the first LO I did using my Cricut, it shows me customising my car.
This was one of the first times i really concentrated on tonal colous and used paper pleating, I also love the windy picture of us on the ferry going to Italy, Lake Como, hence the play on words about the BF hair.
This was one of the first LOI did when I attended the bramford crop. I love the colours and the tones that match the clothes we are wearing in the photos.
This was my first ever LO that I did when I start scrapbooking back in November 2009. The photos are also from when me and the BF first got together.
I think I have come a long way with my scrapping and I love looking back in my albums to see the old stuff I did. I also love looking online at all the other peoples creativity and stories.
Well these are the last LO's of the weekend cyber crop, I have another couple of posts to do before I retire from my marathon scrapbook weekend.
Challenge 14 : Scrap an Adventure
Challenge 15: Scrap with Stamps
I made a card for this one, I dont really have many stamps, and those I do I dont really use for scrapbooking, maybe I should though. I need to make a card as well so it is something odd my to do list.
Well I am still working my way through the challenges set today, I have had a brilliant day doing all the scrapping challenges.
Challenge Seven: Scraplift (Como Crickets)
I tried to follow the layout as close as I could, I did not have any Como paper that went with my picture so I used some bits I had in my stash. I also decided to try and work with a colour theme aswell.
I am going to finish for the day and am looking forward to what Shimelle brings on tomorrow
I got a bit out of order with my challenges, but I have finished off some of my Document 2010 pages for March in the process.
Challenge 9: Using your handwritting Well this is a bit painful for me as I do not really like my own handwritting, but I did it for the challenge. I think I will come around to the idea of handwritting in time as it is a fiddle setting the printer up!!
This is for part of my divider page for Document:2010.
Well normally digital does not float my boat but I gave it a go for the next challenge. I included the lovely brushes that Shimelle had as a free dowload. All the elements are freebies that I have collected off the net, it was created using Photoshop CS2.
Well I have had a productive afternoon so far, completing the next two LO from the weekend online crop over at Shimelle.com.
Challenge 3: Bunting
I like the idea of bunting on LO's. I saw the Dear Lizzy line when at Ally Pally and loved the bits featuring the cute spring coloured bunting. I used a WRMK stamp to create my bunting on some scraps.
Challenge 4: Four Patern Paper Squares
I four scraps of paper that matched well but could not get the LO right with them, I decided to alter the angles of them and add a stamp effect boarder to the photo, I think it works!! I then attacked some paper flowers with some distress inks to make them match in with the LO colour scheme.
I think currently their are 8 challenges on the blog so I am half way their. I am enjoying seeing everyone elses LO too.
Well I had great fun on the crop chat lastnight, lots of gossip about male actors, cakes and wine....oh and some scrapbooking!
Well I am behind on the challenges as I am a slowish scrapper but I have my list of challenges to work on and am getting there.
Challenge 1 : Cupcakes
This was a great first challenge, I used some pictures from the BF birthday, I am happy with the result. Some bunting crept on there before challenge 3 was announced too!
Challenge 2: Sketch and Woodgrain
This was a change for me used a big photo and tried to stick to the sketch. I also used some wood effect chipboard letters. In the spirt of 'Something from Almost Nothing' I also stash busted some felt trim that had been sitting around for ages.
Now setting off to get working on the next challenge....bunting!
Well I had a lovely day yesterday at Ally Pally 'The Big Stamp and Scrapbook Show' it was my first time and I enjoyed the expirence....I don't think my bank balance liked it hee hee. Thanks to Janina for inviting me.
As you can see below I got a variety of stash and am going to have fun sorting it out later, also went out for a walk today with my camera so have some pictures to scrap as well now.
Got lots of LO planned just need to find time to so them!!
Well I have had time today to catch up on my blogging and also on completing some layouts for the Shimelle class I have been working on.
Below is the layout I did to try and use up my Chipboard stash but only ended up putting one bit on that I altered, I found so much when looking it was scary. I will work through the rest of this class and hopefully deplete some more of my stash.
