Present for my Grandma

Well it was my Grandma's 91st Birthday today and I made a canvas for her with photos of all the family, including my grandad who has passed away. I loved looking through the only photos and finding one I took as a child of them both. She loved the present and it is going to hang in her room at the nursing home.

I have Shimelle's class to look forward to starting and also my new iphone which I can play with the hipstamatic app and take cool photos. I am also hoping to do some scrapping this weekend.

Have a good weekend

WOYWW.....almost tidy!!

Well what a manic week it has been, I have not been able to get around to many peoples blog, but thank you everyone for your lovely comments last week.

My desk is really tidy for me this week, we had our flat inspection this week by our landlord so have tidied up and put alot of my crafting bits away. I have not done any scrapbooking for about 2 weeks so sat down last night to work on a layout, and I am pleased with the result. Also please note their is no wine glass again this week....I managed to break two when tidying up...so been drinking out the bottle......hee hee.
Below my desk in the box is my birthday present from my mum and my partner......a brand new sewing machine....so excited about it, but it will be staying in the box till the 9th July.....maybe!! I have 2 old sewing machine which have ended up and work and I use them to teach my kids in the fashion and textile sessions, so am so excited, this is also my first brand new machine. My mum is a dressmaker and I have grown up with using sewing machines from an early age and have always had her old machine....hence the excitement at my brand new one.

I also though I would show you inside some of the draws that sit beside my desk, they are very crammed.....you can see where I put the stuff off my desk hee hee!!

Please note that I have a stash of robot papers from MME which I picked up the Needham Market Scrapbook Fayre at the weekend....they are all ready to scrap my party photos.

This draw contains embellishments, chipboard letter and stickers...also lots of other random bits and bobs.

I am really hoping to get around and see peoples desk this week and thanks in advance for you comments.

Well here I am again for a WOYWW, and I am still no more organised or tidy!........But I do have an excuse I have a project on the go, my invitations for my 26th birthday party. This week has been more normal than any in the last 2 months, my partner is still on the mend, having more good days than bad days at the moment, which has allowed me som craft time.

Please see some close ups of the completed invitations...I am going for a robot theme. I drew the little robot myself and even added him to envelope.

I also want to thanks everyone for the lovely comments they left last week.....please note no wine glass this week!

Please go over and visit Julia's blog and check out all the others desks.

Day 4 - Heavy Metal

Well I must admit that I found this one hard work.....I was really stumped....but then I thought about using the Cricut and seeing what SVG I could find to download. I found a brilliant set of cogs which worked perfectly for this challenge.

I got busy with the distressing, stickling and gems and also used my swiss dot embossing folder which is one of my new play things.

I have not done the journalling or photos for today yet, but I hope to be able to catch up with this at the weekend.

Wonder what tomorrow will bring.

A few of my Favourite.......Shoe LO's

The wonderful Julie over at These Are a Few of My Favourite Things has the most amazing blog candy up for grabs in the current challenges......please go and have a look.....she added even more prizes today, please go visit ......and say I sent you.

Well the challenge was a few of your favourite.......SHOES.....the problem was which shoes to go for!!!

I made a new LO for this challenge, but also found some old LO I did with shoes on as well....

This is my new LO wanted to keep it bright, tried something a bit different too. I used some Tim Holz grunge element, which I coloured with distress ink, I also found some other chipboard elements aswell. I then printed and cut out some letters from the new digi kit from Shimelle, I love the cute woodgrain effect.

It features the pair of trainers I have worn the most I had them for 8 years, they were mustard yellow Nike's and were so comfortable.....they got chucked out before we moved in December as they were barly staying together.......I love them and they have travelled many miles with me.

This is a LO I did to celebrate joining the gym back in April......I really need to get back to it and now my partner is on the mend, I hopefully can get back to it next week.

This is a digi LO I did a while back featuring the best trainers in the world, the ones in the first LO.

Like I said, please go and check out the challenge blog and all the amazing prizes up for grabs.

WOYWW.......back at my desk....the shame!!

Well I am back home and at my desk again................but it is chaos, things got moved about when we had our house guest and I still have not sorted them, I also had a crop at the weekend so have my bags packed still.

My partner is improving which is meaning I have more time for crafting.....I dont have time for tidying though hee hee

I promise that I will be back next week with a tidy more organised desk for you all to see

Please go over and see all the other lovely craft spaces and to find out more information here.

Day 3....in the Boot Camp

Well it is day 3 over at the Boot Camp and I have just completed my piece for today....the theme is MULTI-LAYERED today
I had been playing with my Cricut and the Make the Cut software and have cut these multi-layed flowers, this is the first time I have experiemented with multi SVG files and I am pleased with the result and will be trying more in the future. It also features some of the adhesive lace borders which are my new love at the moment!

I am still struggling with some of the journalling, I find after being at work all day I want to be creative rather than write alot, I also have dyslexia which means writing is not a strong point of mine.

I am hoping to get some time to visit a few more peoples creations today.

Day 1 - 2 Creative Boot Camp

Well I have got around to posting my first two days worth of Creative Boot Camp and am enjoying it so far. I am going to keep the journalling private, but did print some cute envelopes to keep them in. I decided to go for an postcard size format for my scrapbooking style pieces.

Day 1 - Prompt - IVORY

Day 2 - Prompt - PICNIC

My Journal - for keeping notes

My Envelope Journal Pieces

I am hoping I can keep up with these challenges/prompt, although the written side is proving a bit of a challenge for me.........but I guess this is the pain barrier!

SCD Weekly Challenge

Over at SCD this week they have a new medium and a new challenge. The medium is a Skinnis a 3 x 5 piece of art, and the theme this week is houses.

I search through my stash and found a house element and then got busy creating a simple Skinnis, I am happy with it and I used my new swiss dot embossing folder on some colour core cardstock which I found in my stash.

I now have access to my desk again and my fiance has improved slightly, but we are still taking each day as it comes....but it is so nice to craft again.

Hope everyone has had a creative weekend.....Creativity Boot Camp starts today......how exciting!!

New FREE Class

Get it Scrapped has a new class up, I have signed up for it and it is FREE. It is a basic almost start up course, but I thought it might help me to start from the beginning, as I am still pretty new to scrapbooking.

Looks interesting and hopefully it will re-start my creativity alongside the Creative Boot Camp starting this weekend.

WOYWW......away from home

Well over at the WOYWW blog it is birthday week, please go check out the great workspaces and the people that have celebrated its first birthday in style in their work space.

Unfortunately my partner is still not on the mend, but we have come away to his mums for a few days in the hope he may improve. I have no workdesk to share.....but I do have my portable creativity survival kit!! I am one who always has a handbag stuffed to the brim with things and these are my creative essentials.

I have a book, this one Norwegian Wood, I have been inspired to re read this by the previous challenge from a few of my favourite things. I also have my notebook, which I use to jot down things throughout the day, whether this be recipes for work or challenge prompts or lists of books, I do love my lists. The front cover is a collage I made one day when teaching an collage art class at work, I just love that statement. The other is a small notebook from Paperchase it does not have alot in it, just a few saying, poems etc that I have found inspiring and wanted to note down somewhere.

I of course also have my laptop with me, something I could not be without, thanks to the wonders of mobile internet I have managed to feed my creativity by blog hopping for hours on end!

I hope that you have enjoyed looking at my portable creativity kit.....what is in yours?

I am off to look around other peoples work desks, have a good week.
